OST Youth Space
A hub for young people in DG3
OST Youth Space is a vibrant, inclusive place where young people explore, create and take the lead. Whether it’s weekly clubs, holiday programmes or workshops, our space is designed to inspire confidence, creativity and ambition in every young person.
About us
Located next to Wallace Hall School, Old School Thornhill is more than just a building - it’s a community hub where people of all ages come together. At the OST Youth Space, our vision is to foster community cohesion, rural innovation and creativity. We provide a safe, welcoming environment where young people can connect, learn and grow.

Initiatives
We offer a wide range of activities designed to engage and inspire:
After-school classes & workshops - From arts and crafts to music and theatre.
Holiday programmes - Exciting seasonal activities during Easter, October and Summer holidays and more.
Skill-building opportunities – Creative projects, leadership and practical workshops.
At OST Youth Space, young people don’t just attend - they lead. Our Youth Management Committee shapes programmes, manages budgets and runs events, giving participants a real voice in the decisions that affect them. A Youth Committee member even sits on the OST Board, ensuring youth perspectives guide our work.
Trade Routes is our innovative programme connecting young people with local trade skills and career opportunities. Developed in partnership with Wallace Hall Academy and local employers, Trade Routes offers tasters, themed clubs and progression pathways to inspire apprenticeships and employment.
We continually develop new initiatives that respond to the needs and interests of young people in our community.
